These still life paintings of flowers were inspired by my love of nature and the lush sprawling garden of my childhood in Kansas City. Every Spring, my father–a dentist who grew up on a farm in North Missouri–tended his daffodils, irises, crocuses, and tulips. The perennial daisies, peonies, roses, and lilies were artfully surrounded by pussy willow, forsythia, honey suckle, fragrant lilacs, and a myriad of other plants. I enjoyed gathering these beauties and giving them in small bouquets to my elementary teachers. This mixed media work was sheer joy in the making, and the arrangements and vases depicted are my own. What flowers are your favorites?
